Churrasco

Oi!
My friend Momo and I took a trip into Tumon tonight and dined at the new Brasilian restaurant Churrasco [pronounced "choo-ha-sku"]. The restaurant has a flat fee of $33.75 for dinner - which was WORTH it! I would compare it to a Brasilian dim sum - you sit down at a table, order some caipirinhas, help yourself at the salad bar and waiters will soon fill your table with numerous sauces and condiments.
*The menu gives you directions on how to dine Brasilian style.
These are the sauces they provided us with, one was a chili sauce, a steak sauce and finadeni. That is what made this Brasilian bbq joint unique - they serve finadeni to accomodate the tangy-tinged taste buds of the locals.
Here we had some feijão, legumes and some purê de batatas. We didn't really care for the legumes, they were a bit bitter.
Tambem, our table was garnished with some pão com queijo e banana-da-terra.
Finalmente, we celebrated Momo's birthday - she was serenaded by all the waiters and waitresses. She also scored a free flan!

This was my first time eating Brasilian bbq. There were so many different types of meat to choose from, Momo and I were sometimes stumped about the different cuts - don't be afraid to ask what it is or what animal the meat is from. The waiters will gladly school you on the type of food they're serving. Lastly, I was a little bit disappointed at first - I wanted to practice my Brasilian portuguese with someone but the staff is mostly local - which was fine, after all, they were all so nice to us.

Some suggestions...maybe some samba music or bossa nova? I would've loved that with my dinner. Also, watch out for the alcohol tab, your bill will come out to about $100.00 for a two-person meal including a couple of caipirinhas.

I definitely recommend this restaurant - if you have a big appetite and want to celebrate a birthday. :) The staff is wonderful, the food portions are huge (really, all you can eat) and the atmosphere is relaxing. I'll be saving up for my next visit to Churrasco.
