Since this is the last week of an adventurous summer, my girls and I wanted to check out Shokudo's After Dark launch party - which was hosted by Metromix. The event featured a $3 menu that consisted of my fave ume cucumber salad and (drum roll please)...RAMEN!
In addition to all those delicious goodies, we went crazy for the honey toast and $2 li hing sake shots. The most exciting thing about our Tuesday night out was the free masks and gift bags that Metromix provided for the first 25 people to show up. You know me and my pake-ness - we Chinese like the word 'free' and the Portuguese in me prompts me to do anything to get it.Of course there was some drama as the line Nazi (me) had to put on her 'tita' 'tude and calmly confront the people in front of us about letting their 10 friends cut in. Hello? How were we supposed to get a taste of the free gifts when people are inconsiderately cutting the line. Yes, that was a bit rude of me, I apologize, but it's all about the principle - FIRST COME FIRST SERVE.
Other than that, we had an amazing night. I believe the After Dark menu is available after 10 p.m. at Shokudo from Sunday through Thursday. You gotta try it.
