Souvaly

My aunt, mother and I dined at Souvaly Thai Cuisine in Pearl City recently. It's a cute, modern-type Thai-Laotian restaurant that's a MUST whenever my family is in the area. But since I'm always either working or in class, I never got to go. This is my first time to experience the fresh, crisp cuisine that my family always talks about.
[If you ever get the chance to eat at Souvaly Thai Cuisine, you must try the crispy curry, drunken noodles and the papaya salad.]One fascinating thing about this restaurant is, in my opinion, the smart Laotian woman who owns it, Souvaly Khamphoui. Before she moved to Hawaii to live with her aunt, she studied Russian and Thai. I admire her for being multi-lingual, especially in a 'melting pot' such as Hawaii.

* It seems as if she also enjoys art - don't forget to check out the beautiful canvases on the walls.
